We are a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and kayak company based in Orange County offering fun and memorable experiences for people of all ages. Our mission is to bring the world together through fun and happiness. We provide rentals, lessons, special events, group excursions, and a summer kids camp. We hope you’ll come out to play!

No reservations needed, simply show up. We have plenty of equipment. Groups of 10 or more can make reservations by paying ahead of time (non-refundable).

Location and Parking

For directions type in “Pirate Coast Paddle” into your WAZE or Google maps. Pirate Coast Paddle is located at 1131 Back Bay Dr. Newport Beach, CA 92660. We are inside the Newport Dunes complex right before Back Bay Bistro and the boat launch ramp. You can park inside the Newport Dunes complex for a fee or park for free on the street outside of the complex gates. Our beach is near the bridge with a brightly decorated gazebo, tables, chairs, flags, kayaks and of course paddleboards.

I’m so happy I came across Pirate Coast Paddle! It was my first time paddle boarding and I was a bit excited and nervous, however the staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. I saw so many great reviews so I thought I’d give them a try. They walked me through the process and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Once I tried it I had so much fun! I highly recommend Pirate Coast Paddle for anybody! If you’ve never done it, give it a try! If you’re a regular paddle boarder, then you’ll know these guys are the best!

The SUP Glow tour is awesome!
I did the sup glow group night tour. The water temperature wasn’t too cold (around 64-70 degrees) and it was ultimately fun, easy and a great workout. I was pretty sore the next day. It’s $35 per person and it includes:guided tour, lesson provided, approximately 1.15 hour paddle. The tour departs at 7:45pm. Conner was our tour guy and he was super cool! He went above and beyond by giving us the best tour around the harbor. We had a blast! All the staffs are really nice, super friendly and very helpful.

Just had a birthday party here for my 11 year old daughter. What a great experience! They took the kids, gave them a quick lesson, and then they were off SUPing with two instructors. All 13 kids had a great time, and were completely entertained for a couple of hours. The employees were doing constant head counts to make sure they had all the kids, and they were super helpful.

We’ve done birthday parties at all the usual places (Sky Zone, Chuck E. Cheese, Mini Golf, etc) and this was by far the most fun the kids have had, and the least work needed by me! Can’t say enough about how great this company is and everyone that works there!!!

I booked a lesson/tour as a bday gift for my sister. This was really fun & a great experience. Tim was our instructor and he was really fun & his goal was to make sure we stood up & got comfortable. I didn’t take a dive, there was a couple of close calls when a boater went by too fast & the wakes rolled on by but I saved it and just kneeled back onto the boards. Their location is in a great area for beginners with less boat traffic and more advanced people can venture out to the main channel. I’m definitely coming back to rent!

This was my first time paddle boarding, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The water in the bay was tame for the most part, but a gentle current also provided a fun thrill. Thanks Margaret for teaching me and helping me with my first time. We’ll be back again:)

We showed up with a big group and no reservation and the crew at Pirate Coast Paddle did not even blink. They got everyone set-up and on the water in record time. The intro lesson was great – easy to understand and gave all the info you needed to have a successful first trip. I would absolutely recommend and will definitely return. Nothing negative to say!
